Here are a few tips
for making a Successful Home Showing |
Before having an open house, be sure to read the

• Open the drapes and shades. Let the sunshine
in.
• Turn on ALL the lights.
• If weather permits, open the windows to get some fresh air.
• Set the temperature to 68-72 degrees.
• Walk through the house. Make sure everything is clean and
clutter free.
• Get rid of strong odors. The house should smell clean.
No heavy sprays or scents.
• Remove personal items from bathroom counters and shower areas.
• Place fresh towels and soaps in all bathrooms.
• Close the toilet lid.
• Lock up valuables.
• Clear the kitchen counters. Remove small appliances.
Replace with a small bowl of fruit.
• Hide the trash cans.
• Set the table with pretty dishes.
• Put logs in the fireplace.
• Remove any sign of your pets from the home during the showing.
• Serve cookies, coffee and soft drinks.
• If you are using an agent. Leave the home.
• Make sure fact sheets are available.
• Mow the grass
• Remove weeds from landscaping.
• Water the lawn 30 minutes before showing.
• Replace old doormats.
